Employer Matching Gifts
Whether you are currently working or retired, your employer may match your gift and increase the impact of your giving! Chat with your Human Resources department to learn if your company offers this program.
Legacy Gifts
You have the ability to make a lasting impact on OHP by establishing a gift to the organization through your will or living trust. Your attorney can assist you with establishing this gift. Along similar lines, you might consider adding OHP as the beneficiary of your IRA or life insurance policy, which again provides a wonderful legacy gift to the organization. A legacy gift through your IRA may also have tax benefits, and we’d encourage you to speak with your tax advisor about this opportunity.
Giving through your IRA
You can lower your income for tax purposes while meeting your required minimum distributions from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and support OHP. If you are age 70 1/2 or older, you can direct your IRA administrator to make contributions directly from your IRA to OHP. Such contributions will count toward your required minimum distributions starting at age 72, but will not count as income to you! We encourage you to speak with your tax advisor on how to take advantage of this tax savings opportunity.
Gift of Appreciated Stock
OHP accepts gifts of stock, which provides a great opportunity to immediately support the organization while managing the tax implications of your investment portfolio. Bonds, mutual funds, or ETFs (exchange-traded funds) can also be gifted to a nonprofit. If you are interested in these giving opportunities, please contact us and we can get you the brokerage details needed to execute the gift.
In-Kind
Gifts of new products to support the OHP operation are also appreciated and welcome. Please contact us.
